Bridging the gap between District 2 and the School District

Working to defy the myth that District 2 is always last to get resources compared to other county areas. My plan is to host at least two town hall meetings a year in District 2, bringing school district leaders in to listen and help the present needs of our community. Since District 2 is a fast-growing district, this method will help parents/guardians who are new to our district navigate their family's education system.

Post Graduation Readiness

Understanding that only some students will want to attend college, I aim to see our students prepared for any pathway they choose. Whether it be the military, trade School, college, or straight to work, we need measures to help them get there. While our district does a great job ensuring students have various industry certifications and internship/externship options, I would love to see the ASVAB (Military entry assessment) Test given as an option for all high school Juniors.

Academic Programs Progression

I am elated to see all the various education programs (Cambridge, IB, etc.) across the county. My goal is to see a program progression from elementary to high school. For example, if there is an IB High School, there should be an IB Elementary and Middle School in that same area. Preventing students from having to change from one course of study to another unless they choose to.
